Can you tell that I'm running out of clever titles and post openers? Maybe because all of my posts are essentially the same. Here, as usual, are a bunch of pictures of Macy.
Macy doesn't do this as often as she did about a month ago, but she has started hiding in the closet under the stairs. It's in our main living area and it's where we keep toys and movies. We usually pull out the bigger toys and haul in as many blankets and pillows as she can get. Then she plays quietly by herself. It's pretty nice.
Still asks for "two" almost daily. (I'm talking about her hair in case you didn't get that.)
Bedtime and naptime are both still daily battles. I've been trying really hard to leave her to go to sleep on her own, especially at night, and not worry so much about how long it takes and how many trips I have to take upstairs. (Or, in the case of naps, if she doesn't sleep at all.) We frequently find her at the top of the stairs.
On a much sadder note, Macy's eczema has gotten so much worse in the last month or two. I finally decided I needed to take her back to the doctor and make them do allergy tests so we could rule that out as the cause. They've decided that blood tests are just as effective as scratch tests at determining allergies, which is definitely a good thing (I guess they have to test toddlers on their backs and it's not pleasant for anyone involved) but still no fun. They had to take two vials (one to test for food allergies, one for environmental allergies). They drew from her right arm, but the vein wasn't flowing very well so they had to do the left arm too. She was such a brave little girl. It was so, so sad, especially when they did the second arm. She didn't fight or pull away, but she kept saying, "No, stop, huwts, ow. Stop, pwease." It broke my heart (and the nurse felt really bad and gave her tons of stickers).
Some of what's on her face is ice cream, but most of it is eczema. She tested negative for all allergies, so for now we just have to assume it's sensitive skin and take care of it as best we can.
