A Year in Pictures

The babies are on a schedule! Well, at least they go to sleep at the same time every night. Which coincides nicely with Macy and Josh's bedtime. Which results in free time! So I'm back.

I was trying to choose one picture for each month of the past year, but it didn't work out very well. So here are lots of pictures.

We got to meet Santa on base in North Carolina before we left.
Josh was still scared of him. We'll see what this year brings.

We had to replace our pine straw as part of checking out of base housing. Macy was very helpful.

We made cupcake bouquets for Macy's preschool, dance, and church teachers before we left.
Macy loves helping. I love doing it myself. :)

Here's Macy at her last dance class with Miss Gigi. We miss her!

During our move, Macy and Josh knocked our headboard over and it fell on Josh!
So scary, but it just bruised his arm.

My mom and dad flew out and drove back to Utah with us. We met Greg's mom and dad (who were heading back from their mission in Oregon) in Nauvoo on our way. For some reason, this is the only picture I have. I'm sure Greg has more, but I'm too lazy to change user accounts right now.

My dad works from home a few days a week and Macy enjoyed working too.
"Mom, I'm busy. I have to work."

Easter eggs! Josh loved this game.

Macy was very proud of her eggs.

Baby animal days in Logan, UT. We went to USU for ice cream after and Macy ate all of her ice cream as well as what was left of mine, Josh's, and Lala's.

Temple square. Macy loves the temple.

Our morning cereal is dangerous business.

Macy frequently made my dad dance with her and occasionally "marry" her.
Which mostly just involved making a grand entrance of some kind.
(She's in the wedding dress we got her for Christmas.)

Amber, Monique (with Ethan and Isaac), Me (24-ish weeks), and Macy
We love Grandma B's house!

Josh fell in love with iPads. He always called them "My iPad!"
He also claimed ownership of Kaitlin's iPhone.

Cupcake Bouquet 2.0, made for Macy's preschool teachers at graduation. We added "grass" this time to cover up the foam ball. I also used the wooden sticks usually used for caramel apples (Wilton makes them) and they held up better than the toothpicks.

I miss having a fenced-in backyard. At least they can't fight over this chair anymore.

Grandma B's house again. I loved to climb this apple tree when I was little and Josh loved it too.

Time for fireworks!

July 27, 35 weeks. Holy cow.
Aug 5, 37 weeks. Even bigger.
Aug 6, Josh hit his head on the coffee table and needed three stitches.
August 7—Ellie & Ashlyn were born!
Ellie Paige—born at 6:30 p.m.; 5 lbs, 18 in.

Ashlyn Brooke—born at 6:42 p.m.; 5 lbs, 7 oz; 19 in.
Big Sister Macy loves her new babies!

We were able to take the babies home right away with no NICU stay, but Ashlyn's bilirubin was so high that we had to go back to the hospital a few days later. I cried. A lot. We only had to stay overnight and were able to continue treating her with home therapy.
Ellie's bilirubin was high too, but she just needed the special blanket.
They both got special blue beds to use at home.

I was nervous about how Josh would take to the babies, but he was fine.
I think he was glad to have my lap back.

Blessing Day—Sept 22
Their dresses were way too big, but they were still pretty!

We left for Korea the next day (Sept 23)—the next three photos were taken in the USO Family Room at Sea-Tac after the kids finally crashed.

They slept through the last leg of our flight (from Japan to Korea).

And moving right along to the present . . .

Sept 28—almost two months old.

Happy Birthday, Macy! (Oct 14)

Josh was Jake (from Jake and the Neverland Pirates) for Halloween.

Macy was Belle for Trunk-or-Treat.

Ellie and Ashlyn, all smiles on their first Halloween.

Macy decided to wear her wedding dress for trick-or-treating at our apartment.

Ashlyn—Nov 16

Ellie—Nov 16
It's mostly healed at this point, but you can see a little scratch where I accidentally gouged her forehead. The day after the scab came off she scratched her nose with her little razor claws.

Ellie—Nov 19
So happy! It's hard to get good pictures of them smiling because I have to do something to make them smile and that's hard when all they can see is my phone in their face.

Ashlyn—Nov 19
Big bright eyes! Like her brother.

That was our year! Before we left North Carolina I said I was looking forward to a change—I got my wish! :)
