Number Four

Greg and I just celebrated our 4th Anniversary! Happy Anniversary to us.

Greg had to go on TDY (temporary duty) to Hawaii for almost three weeks and he was going to miss our anniversary by one day. In fact, he was supposed to get back yesterday morning. Unbeknownst to me, before he left his travel dates were changed.

Separations, however short, are difficult for me. Macy and Josh are getting very demanding (both need more attention lately and Josh is teething, climbing, and falling) and there's not a lot to take us out of the house, especially not without help. So I was super grumpy a lot of the time and Friday was a low point. I had a long weekend ahead of me, as well as church to wrestle my way through by myself for the third week in a row. I just needed to talk to Greg, but he was being a total pill about it. It was super noisy where he was, and he said he was in his hotel lobby because he was sick of his room. Then he said he had to go. I hung up reluctantly. 15 seconds later, I called him back and told him I wasn't done talking. Then he told me his phone was dying, which irritated me because he could have easily gone up to his room to charge it. Turns out, he was in the airport and had to board the plane.

On Saturday, someone knocked on our door (an extremely rare occurrence). I opened the door, and there on my doorstep was Greg, flowers in hand. It was one of the most shocking moments of my life. I just sort of stared at him for a minute. Then I kissed him. Then I punched him.

He also had arranged for someone to watch the kids so we could go on a real date. He took me to The Melting Pot (which is where we went for our first anniversary). Good times.

I never put pictures of us on here, but I thought I'd make an exception. Check out how crazy skinny Greg was before I started feeding him. (And how much better my skin was before I started having babies.)
