Proximity

Well, it's been a week since we heard that we're headed to North Carolina next, and we're feeling much better about the whole thing. No, it's not Europe. But there is one major reason that this is the best place for us to be right now: proximity.

Greg's family: 8 hours
My family: a whole ocean closer and a way shorter plane ride
Washington, D.C.: 4 hours
Philadelphia: 7 hours
NYC: 9 hours
Boston: 12 hours
Kirtland: 8 hours
Palmyra: 11 hours

I've never been to the east coast (except for the Atlanta area to visit Greg's family), so I've never seen any of the cool museums and historical sites and stuff.

Everyone I talk to also tells me how wonderful and beautiful North Carolina is. And we've also found some super cute standalone townhouses with a patio and a yard that were built this year and cost less than what we're paying for our current apartment, which was built in 1963, boasts a beautiful view of the parking lot, and has nothing but dirt where the grass should be.

And England's not going anywhere. Unless we don't make it before all the glaciers melt.
