Commissioning

A lot has been happening lately, so I'm going to take it one event at a time. We'll start with Greg's commissioning.

Greg has been in the Air Force ROTC since fall semester 2006, and on December 19 he was commissioned as an officer. He's now a 2nd Lieutenant.

The commissioning ceremony started with each of the commissionees taking the oath of office.

Next, Greg had me pin on his new ranks. Greg whispered to me that they needed to be 5/8 inch from the outside of the shoulder seam. No pressure. (He was joking of course.)

Then, Greg's brother Jeff gave Greg's first salute. Jeff surprised Greg and came all the way from Alabama to be here for the ceremony.

And ta-da! Greg's officially an officer in the United States Air Force. Greg's excited to be officially graduated (he walked in April) and we're both excited to be moving on to the next stage of life. Greg will be going to ASBC (Air and Space Basic Course) this month, then Macy and I will be heading to Texas with him for intelligence school in March.

Hey, maybe we can still be friends, what's the closest university to your base?? I think I'm applying to UTMB in Galveston, Baylor, UTSW, TCU, TAM, UofD, UofH, UNT, and University of the Incarnate World.
