Macy!

Well, she's finally here. Macy was born early in the morning on Tuesday, 14 October 2008. She was 4lb 15oz and was 18in long (the low birth-weight is due to PIH). Megan was induced at 37 weeks 5 days to minimize the effects of PIH. Right after she was born, Macy went directly to the Newborn ICU because she was grunting. They had her on a respirator for a few hours, had a chest x-ray, and a few other tests. There are videos below when she was in the NICU, one of which was after the first hour when they took her off the respirator to see how she was improving. She was still breathing too rapidly so they kept her on for a while longer. But around 8 am this morning, they brought her down to the normal nursery and eventually to our room. Despite being small, she is doing great. Very active, good color, great set of lungs, etc. Her first two apgar scores were 7 & 9. Also, the images below make it look like she is not doing well because of the machines; however, she is off all of the machines and is in our room. She's doing great.
